LEARNING PROCESS

The purpose of this course is to give operators and others involved in lifting operations the basic knowledge, understanding and skills.

This is achieved through an in-depth period of training on a full-scale DNV GL Class A crane simulator, supported by a program of lectures and instruction.

Study will cover dierent types of loads and external forces affecting the load on crane and boat.

The course can be adjusted to suit company specific needs regarding the choice of unloading/loading procedures.

CERTIFICATE

Certification of attendance will be issued upon successful completion of the course.

Standard NS-EN 1591-4 sets requirements for maintenance of competence. If there has been a stay with work on flanged connections for six months or more, a new refresher course must be completed in order to continue to have valid approval. We offer a separate course for those who do not get enough practice (within 6 months) to maintain the approval. The aim is to provide the participant with sufficient theory and practice to continue to be able to perform flange work in accordance with current requirements. The course includes: Flanges, Clamps, Bolts and lubrication, Gaskets, Working procedures, Understanding safe use of tools and equipment, Associated documents

After completing the course, the students should be able to take part in their own organisation’s emergency management and be familiar with emergency preparedness in the petroleum industry.

Course Content

Lectures and simulation/practical exercises and drills within:

- Emergency preparedness organisation

- Efficient management of an emergency situation

- Cooperation – roles and responsibilities

- Mental reactions and stress management

- Emergency room conduct – practical training

This course is valid for 24 months.

Dette kurset vil gi fremtidige kranførere en god teoretisk grunnopplæring i sikker bruk av offshorekran. Opplæringen gir kandidatene god innsikt i prinsippene for offshorekraners konstruksjon, virkemåte, vedlikehold og bruk slik at uhell og ulykker i forbindelse med løfteoperasjoner unngås. Opplæringen dekker den teoretiske sikkerhetsopplæringen som kreves for G5 offshorekran, samt G20 fastmontert hydraulisk kran. Kurset avsluttes med en skriftlig teoretisk prøve. Når opplært person har bestått teoretisk prøve, samt eksamen for anhukere med tillegg av praktisk kjøreprøve på offshorekran, vil dette være grunnlag for utstedelse av kompetansebevis for fører av G5 offshorekran.

- Mekanikk

- Lastdiagram

- Sikkerhets- / overlastutstyr

- Vinsj / Ståltau / blokk

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After the successful completion of the course, the participant should be able to:
• Explain the basic functionality of the K-Bridge system
• Operate the K-Bridge integrated navigation system
• Use the system in a safe and efficient mode
• Understand the K-Bridge system overview
• Operate  the system with all available functions in order to navigate safely under all conditions
• Explain the system’s menu structure
• Explain and utilize the system’s display setup
• Set safety values
• Recognize  alarms and malfunction indicators and actions to be taken
• Planning, validating and monitoring routes
• Change over to back up systems
• Install and update charts and licenses

CONTENT

• K-Bridge integrated navigation system
• Main system components and functionality
• Basic operation of K-RADAR, K-ECDIS, K-Conning and K-Autopilot
• Type-specific familiarization training on the K-Bridge ECDIS
• Navigation tools and functions
• Setting of safety parameters
• Sensor input and alarm handling
• Route planning, validation and monitoring
• Charts management
• Charts installation and updates 

LEARNING PROCESS

The training will be a combination of theoretical lessons  and practical exercises. The participants will be trained to find information by using the system and obtaincompetence of various applications.

CERTIFICATE

The course yields one diploma stating: K-Bridge Operator Course including ECDIS Familiarization.
