This course aims to enhance the capabilities of shipboard personnel who sail on ships using LFF (low flashpoint fuel) as propulsion energy. It focuses on the responsibilities of all personnel serving on these kinds of ships. The course is developed in accordance with IMO model course 7:13.

1st January 2017 the IGF Code was made mandatory and STCW now includes new minimum requirements for the training and qualifications of personnel on ships subject to the IGF Code. This training program has been approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority. The training consists of an e-learning course, practical assessment at a facility center and a classroom exam. When the training is completed a course diploma is issued. 

The practical training takes place at facilities located in various parts of Norway and abroad. Please choose the most convenient training for yourself or your employees. Fall protection is a course on the basics of fall protection for anyone working above ground.

Who is this course for?

This FSE High and Low Voltage Training course is suitable for everyone working on low and high voltage installations.

 

Is previous experience required?

You do not need prior knowledge or experience to complete this course, but it is assumed that you are competent in your designated role.

 

How will this course benefit me?

The course meets the requirements set in Section 7 of the ‘Safety Regulations for Work and Operation of Electrical Equipment and Installations – FSE’ which is that all relevant personnel undertake annual training and instruction in FSE. The course also provides the necessary training and instruction in first aid, focusing on electrical injuries, with the exception of the mandatory practical training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The regulations of various authorities make FSE applicable to all those working with electricity, whether on board ship, on platforms or on land. This course is suitable for all, regardless of which industry you work in.

The authorities require that training in FSE and first aid in the event of electrical accidents is undertaken at least once a year. No more than 12 months shall elapse between training courses.

Course Goal:

This course aims to provide learners of an awareness of US best practice in relation to confined space entry (CSE), hazardous atmospheres, and the necessary equipment, and permits required to work in confined spaces.

It will also examine the hazards and hazard control methods that are required to undertake work safely in a confined space and the actions that should be taken in an emergency.
