Objective: The aim of the training is that theoretical and practical knowledge about fall protection and the correct use of rescue equipment, rescue of free-hanging persons, rescue of personnel over open sea, tank, stretcher transport, descent and treatment of personnel after fall accident is refreshed and repeated.

The training is adapted for personnel who are part of fall protection / rescue teams on board an installation. Participants must gain expertise in risk assessment, rescue (equipment and methods) and first aid.

An important aspect of our operation is rooted in courses and training in flange work and bolted connections. We have been involved in the development of courses since OLF started their Gasslekasjeprosjekt (Gas-leakage project) in 2003, up until the updated requirements per NS-EN 1591-4 as of today.

Content:

The industries requirements in regards to training has provided improvements in the form of decrease in amounts of leakages both offshore and onshore. The executive operator gains better understanding and enhanced competence which further results in a safer work environment.

The fundamental course in flange work spans over 4 days, covering both theoretical- and practical training. Examination on both the theoretical and practical work will be conducted. Upon successful completion of the exams, a course certificate will be awarded. This certificate is valid for 5 years. To extend the validation of the certificate, a one-day refresher course must be completed before the expiration date of the certificate (within 5 years).
The refresher course prolongs the validity of the certificate for another 5 years upon completion.

The primary goal of the course is to provide necessary and required training which enables the individual to conduct independent work on flanges and bolted connections.

The course can also be arranged internally and can be tailor-made for individual companies.

The course "Hose assembly – safe appliances" provides a basic introduction to the safe use of hoses and selection of fittings for different applications. Furthermore, the course focuses on the identification of fittings, as well as basic practical training in hose assembly.

After the course, participants will be able to use the hose assembly equipment in a way that maintains a safe and appropriate work process. The course is divided into a theoretical and a practical part and is concluded with a written certification test. The course is conducted according to the standard TR 1803 and Oil and Gas United Kingdom Standard.

EXAM OBJECTIVES

This exam tests the skills and competence of a DPO against the requirements given in the competence standard DNV-GL Notation AJ/FT-AT.

The exam is a thorough test, covering the most important competences for a DPO, in compliance with relevant DNVGL competence standards. The test measures how well operation of equipment, duties and tasks are performed, all in compliance with relevant international, national and local regulations and requirements.

The Offshore loading courses are designed to meet  Equinor, OGUK and company specific requirements for training of shuttle tanker personnel. The objective is to achieve optimal skills and understanding on how to handle a shuttle tanker in DP mode. The participants will use previously acquired knowledge on manual handling and basic DP together with updated advanced DP knowledge during training on Shuttle tanker operational procedures.

The course focuses on handling Shuttle Tankers in close proximity to Floating Production Storage and Off take units (FPSO’s/FSU’s), Offshore Loading systems (OLS), Single Anchor Loading (SAL) and Direct Shuttle Loading (DSL) from various FPSO’s.

All approaches to the loading buoys are carried out by using Dynamic Positioning Systems, according to procedures. Simulations also include reconstruction of known DP incidents involving shuttle tankers. The complexity of these exercises will be based on the experience of the person “in charge” on the bridge.

Objective: The main goal is to provide personnel who are to perform the roles of signal transmitter, signalers and deck operator with sufficient knowledge of handling and transport of dangerous goods and hazardous waste, to be able to identify hazards and risks when handling this type of cargo, in such a way that unwanted incidents are avoided.

Safe handling and transport of dangerous goods and hazardous waste requires knowledge of hazards and risks, regulations, correct execution and safe practice during treatment and transport.

Content:

The learning process leading up to a certificate of competence is carried out to contribute to safe lifting operations, as well as to document the necessary knowledge and skills in accordance with requirements laid down in national regulations and standards.

After completion, participants must be able to identify hazards, risks, causes and consequences of accidents with dangerous goods and hazardous waste.

Participants will also be familiar with restrictions, requirements, classifications, identification, packaging, marking, documentation and handling of dangerous goods and waste.

Objective: Through a combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to work safely in enclosed spaces.

The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority has made major changes to the regulations. People who work in tanks and closed rooms are the biggest difference that the regulation "Work in tanks" has fallen away. This is replaced by section 29 of the regulations «execution of work», which states that all work in closed rooms shall be performed «without danger to life or health». A simple requirement that gives the employer a great deal of responsibility.

New SOLAS requirements: Exercises in closed rooms and rescue, as well as portable gas measuring equipment.

Standard NS-EN 1591-4 sets requirements for maintenance of competence. If there has been a stay with work on flanged connections for six months or more, a new refresher course must be completed in order to continue to have valid approval. We offer a separate course for those who do not get enough practice (within 6 months) to maintain the approval. The aim is to provide the participant with sufficient theory and practice to continue to be able to perform flange work in accordance with current requirements. After completing the course, the students should be able to take part in their own organisation’s emergency management and be familiar with emergency preparedness in the petroleum industry.

Dette kurset vil gi fremtidige kranførere en god teoretisk grunnopplæring i sikker bruk av offshorekran. Opplæringen gir kandidatene god innsikt i prinsippene for offshorekraners konstruksjon, virkemåte, vedlikehold og bruk slik at uhell og ulykker i forbindelse med løfteoperasjoner unngås. Opplæringen dekker den teoretiske sikkerhetsopplæringen som kreves for G5 offshorekran, samt G20 fastmontert hydraulisk kran. Kurset avsluttes med en skriftlig teoretisk prøve. Når opplært person har bestått teoretisk prøve, samt eksamen for anhukere med tillegg av praktisk kjøreprøve på offshorekran, vil dette være grunnlag for utstedelse av kompetansebevis for fører av G5 offshorekran.

Upon completion of the Global Wind Organization (GWO) Basic Safety Training (BST), delegates will have awareness of the dangers that arise when working in the wind industry and how to control and reduce these dangers.

The course covers the requirements for training of personnel and refresher courses both onshore and offshore wind in accordance with:

Competence for "First Aid" must be maintained in accordance with. guideline in the GWO standard. It shall be conducted refresher training every 2 years.

The objective of this course is to give the trainee DPOs as much hands-on experience as possible in the time available. Objective: The purpose of the course is to provide forklift drivers with a good theoretical basic training in the safe use of forklifts, so that accidents in connection with forklift driving are avoided.

The course is primarily aimed at future users of forklifts. But anyone who is involved with cargo handling and forklifts in risk analysis and work management can also benefit from the course.
